COVID-19 Player Illness and Return to Play

What do we do if someone gets sick?

We understand the anxiety caused by this pandemic, and we truly believe that careful precautions are in place to help protect our players, coaches, staff, and families.  Even so, the risk of infection cannot be eliminated, and so we have to be prepared to manage situations where illness does occur in spite of our best efforts.

The most important thing to know is that anyone who is feeling unwell or who suspects that they could be sick must STAY HOME and seek medical attention. Please refer to public heath guidance from the Region of Waterloo COVID-19 resource page, or consult with your doctor.  If you are not confident that you can pass the OMHA Health Screening questionnaire by answering NO to ALL questions, please DO NOT COME TO THE ARENA.

Hockey Canada has created their Return to Hockey - Safety & Protocols page to help guide hockey families and hockey associations in these unprecedented times.

The OMHA has crafted a stepwise strategy to return to hockey. Please visit their COVID-19 Return to Hockey 2020-21 page for all the latest details.

Based on the principles and guidance of Hockey Canada, the OMHA and OHF, and in cooperation with the Township of Wilmot and public health authorities, the NHHA has developed our Return to Play strategy.
