Huskies Lose Tough One in OT
Written By Lori Spoltore,

The New Hamburg Atom AE Huskies lost a tough fought battle to Pelham in overtime play but demonstrated a valiant effort.  Fans could not be disappointed in the team's play as the boys skated hard and tried their best to tie up the series.  The Pelham Panthers now lead the series two games to none, after a previous loss for the Huskies 4-1 in Pelham on the weekend.  Outstanding goaltending by Tyler Jackman kept the Huskies in the game.  Jackman had several glove saves and was clutch in the game keeping calm, as he made the hard saves look easy.  The lone goal for the Huskies was scored by Scott Carey from an awesome shot from the point in the first period.  The crowd was electric as the Wilmot Rec Centre was packed with fans.  Great hustle and determination from Charlie Slessor, Jack Weiler and Noah Walmsley.  The Huskies played a very aggressive game and got into a bit of penalty trouble again.  The penalty kill team worked hard to kill the clock with excellent skating from Zach Hart and Sam Herrle.  Tremendous defence from Luke Timmons and Ryan Hillar who stayed close to home and covered players in front of the net.  The Huskies had many scoring opportunities and various scrambles in front of the Pelham net.  Adam Barr flew at the net on a breakaway that the Panther goalie luckily saved.  The Huskies continue their OMHA series next Saturday at home at 4:30 at WRC.  Come out to cheer them on to victory.  Go Huskies!
