Huskies Hot On The Road
Written by Lori Spoltore,

The Atom AE Huskies had a solid week with a tie and two wins on the road, gaining momentum toward their goal to advance in league playoff action.  The Huskies tied an aggressive team from Ancaster 1-1 early in the week, then beat them 2-1 on the weekend in their barn.  Jack Weiler was the solo scorer in the tied game with an assist to Joey Entz.  In the 2-1 win, Jake Schweitzer wrapped one around the post, then Weiler showed up again with a bouncy shot that snuck by the Avalanche goalie; an assist to Charlie Slessor.  The Huskies fans were elated.  Tyler Jackman kept the Huskies spirit alive with an early breakaway save against an Avalanche player.  The boys also won an away game in Orangeville 2-0 on the weekend, quite possibly the best game the Huskies have ever played thus far.  Joey Entz showed up to play as he moved from his usual defensive spot to the right wing position and was excellent offensively and defensively.  Aidan Voisin and Adam Barr were like machines on the ice never giving up in the corners, and team mate Zachary Hart gave it his all every shift.  The passing is coming along and the Huskies are beginning to understand the true value of playing as a team.  The Orangeville Flyers are a very skilled team, but the Huskies dominated the play, and Max Evans was electric in net.  Incredible hustle from Sam Herrle, Corson Myers, and Noah Walmsley.  Again the line mates Schweitzer and Brandon Ropp were hot as they assisted each other on both goals; assists also going to Scott Carey and Luke Timmons. The defense was solid again, and many plays were broken up by Logan Kleine, Ryan Hillar and Carey.  Fans were concerned when steady defensive player Timmons was boarded from behind, but then sprung back to action immediately, giving it his all.  The Huskies take on Hespler this Wednesday to continue their run.  Go Huskies!
