Congratulations to the Atom AE New Hamburg Huskies as they completed their season in a hard-fought battle versus the Arthur Vipers but came up short 2-1 in the final game.  The WRC was packed with Huskies fans and they were not disappointed with the efforts of both teams.  Hard work and determination came from both benches for the Tri-County Championship.  At the end of the first period, the game was scoreless.  Max Evans had some great glove saves and his movement was excellent.  He exuded confidence and played extremely well.  Arthur took the lead in the middle of the second period with a goal by Dylan Richardson on a breakaway, who made a brilliant move at the end.  The Huskies tied it up shortly after with a goal from Zachary Hart that bounced off the side of the goalie pads and into the net - much to the elation of the home town crowd.  Aidan Voisin, Noah Walmsley and Corson Myers worked very hard to keep the puck in the offensive end.  Early in the third period the Vipers went ahead 2-1 with a goal from Blair Geddes.  Though the Huskies battled back, and made great strategic decisions in the end, the home team ran out of time and wasn't able to even it up.  Jack Weiler and Sam Herrle did a terrific job back checking, and the entire defensive team played aggressively and skated hard.  Joey Entz and Scott Carey were solid with pinching and rushing the puck.  Luke Timmons, Ryan Hillar and Adam Barr were physical in the corners and broke up many opportunities.  A decent effort by Charlie Slessor carrying the puck in front of the Viper net kept it exciting.  Continued hustle and unending determination by captain of the team, Jake Schweitzer and linemate Brandon Ropp.  Great team spirit and support from Tyler Jackman.  Teammate Logan Kleine and coach Herrle were missed at the game.  Special congratulations to the entire coaching staff of the Atom AE team on a very successful and rewarding year of hockey.  Go Huskies!
