Back in the win column
LL1 got themselves back in the win column today with a 3-2 victory over LL4 in a very close hockey game.

LL1 was led by the newly formed "Legion of Doom" line featuring Kohen centring two hulking wingers in Jesse and Ryan.  Jesse opened the scoring following a solo rush up the left wing boards that he finished with a good low hard shot that beat the goalie to make the  score 1-0.

With the LL1 regular goalie still working on his tan, the team secured the 1 game services of Jayden Cook-Reiner as LL4 was gracious enough to loan him to their opponents for the game.  Jayden was solid all game as he faced his brother Riley who was equally good at the other end.  The two goalies faced each other for the first time in their young careers, and the feeling in the building was reminiscent of the night the great Ken Dryden faced his brother Dave.

LL4 tied the game in the second period before LL1 re-gained the lead on a fortunate goal.  Logan fired the puck into the offensive zone and after a funny bounce off the end boards, the puck took a tough hop off the LL4 defencemen and ended up in the net. LL4 bounced back though and tied the game again before the end of the period.

Early in the third, Carson picked up the puck in the defensive zone and made one of his patented clearing plays off the boards that sent Ethan in on a break-a-way to score what proved to be the game winning goal.  It was a great game by all players...great checking, great skating and great play in the offensive zone.

At the end of it all, Jesse walked away wearing the Hard Hat...not just for his strong play in the offensive zone, but also for the back checking hustle he showed on more than one occasion as he broke up some potential goal scoring rushes by LL4.

Great job Huskies!
