Everybody is a Slushie Skater today in 4-3 win!
Great work today LL3 team as the back and forth action might have taken it's toll on the parents hearts as the game was a battle to the very end!!!

The whole team deserved, earned and was awarded slushie's today as they battled hard to the end to win 4-3 against the gritty LL1 team.

With Brody still in exile in the U.S,

Cohen stepped forward and put on the goalie gear today.  With the help of his stalward steady defenseman Owen, Stuart and the new temporary callup from LL4 Kodi Blackshaw the shutout was alive until 6 minutes left in the 2nd period.  Great work in net Cohen and all 3 defenseman!

The forward unit was without 'smooth skating Brayden' and 'goalie screening Cooper' so had to reach out for a temporary man there as well.  Tye and 'defenseman converted to forward' Kaden played with Quinn Klasnic from the LL4 team and he made an immediate impact to the game and scored the first 3 goals for the home team to spot a 3-1 lead midway through the third period.  The LL1 team wouldn't give up though and Ethan Lichti put the team on his back and scored 2 goals to tie the game at 3, with 3 minutes left.  Cole, Riley and Sam were huffing and puffing as they worked hard to keep him off the scoreboard but his determination paid off. All 3 had their scoring chances too and Sam was robbed by Deklan on what was sure to be back to back games with a goal.  Cole had at least 2 breakaways and Riley fought for his spot in front of the net but nobody could get that elusive winning goal.

Then with under a minute to go, Kaden grabbed the puck in our end and cut hard around some feisty checking and was in a 1 on 1 race with Ethan to the net.  The 2 battled hard but Kaden wiggled free to a breakaway and sniped home the winner with 46 seconds remaining.  Everybody worked hard to prevent a big scoring chance for the rest of the game and the win was sealed.........great finish to an exciting game boys!

Final regular season game next Saturday at 10am for 1st place, and then playoff schedule is still to be determined.
