New Hamburg Peewee AE Vs. Erin-Hillsburg, Dundas & Hespeler...........

New Hamburg Peewee AE's are enjoying a successful start to this season.
League play opened Sept 23rd versus Erin-Hillsburgh Devils which saw the
Huskies dominate for a 14-0 victory. The Huskies' next outing on September
29th was a wakeup call versus a strong and aggressive Dundas Blues team. The
Blues drew first blood netting a goal in the first. Huskies answered back to
end the period 1-1. Second period play saw the Dogs facing much larger and
faster opponents who peppered Tyler Jackman's net. Second period play saw
the Blue's leading 4-1 with the fight getting worse. The Blues experienced
amassing penalty minutes due to numerous roughing, unsportmanship and head
check penalties. This was the opportunity the Huskies used to capitalize on
for two goals making it 4-3. With the clock counting down the Huskies dug in
their claws and bit down for another goal for a final 4-4. This matchup will
certainly be interesting in the future.

October 5th saw the Huskies face the Hespeler Shamrocks who would not be
doubted. From the start the Dogs set the pace with hard skating and hard
hitting. Hespeler tried to keep pace giving Max Evans only a few shots due
to the defensive wall presence from Adam Barr, Scott Carey, Dale Jurica and
Ryan Pierson. Brandon Ropp netted a goal from Joshua Potts' rebound in heavy
traffic in front of the net in the second to put the Dogs on the board
first. The door was now open and Emmet Latyn's pass set up Jared Proll's
goal 28 seconds later. The second period would end for the Shamrocks only
after Potts' pass for Sam Herrle's and Proll's' goals made the score 4-0.
The Dogs were hitting the Shamrocks hard and didn't let up in the third
which saw Ethan Field pass to Pierson who threaded a pass to Nicholas Egli
for the Huskies' fifth unanswered goal. The Shamrocks found a clover and set
up two plays to close the gap to 5-2. Luck was not to be found however when
the continued hard digging of Daniel Farrish and Tyler Wagler presented
Latyn with  the final nail that he drove home. Huskies 6, Shamrocks 2.
League play continues Oct 7th versus Arthur Vipers in the Huskie Den.
Go Huskies!!!
