Huskies Coming Together

The New Hamburg PeeWee AE team captured five out of a possible eight points in their last 4 games. The Huskies faced the Woolwich Wildcats in league play Oct 14th. The Wildcats snapped the first goal with the Dogs combination tic (Joey Entz) tac (Nick Egli) toe (Tyson Wagler) responding shortly afterwards to tie at 1-1. It was a fast end to end game with many missed opportunities until the Wildcats secured another goal midway through the third. Emmet Latyn responded with his signature charge down the boards in the dying minutes of the third to get the final goal. Huskies 2, Wildcats 2.

Oct 19th saw the Dogs in the first of back to back games versus the Acton Tanners. The Huskies faced a number of penalties that enabled the Tanners to light up the scoreboard first. The Huskies responded back quickly with Egli's top shelf and Scott Carey's pass to Josh Potts who scored in the Tanners zone making it 2-1 Huskies. Third period play saw Entz's point shot poked in by Latyn for a -3-2 Huskie final.

The Tanners were hoping for better results Oct 20th and were off to a good start scoring first in the first. It was now the Huskies turn and Max Evans set the bar high. This enabled quick exits from the Huskies zone enabling Latyn's drop pass for Entz's point shot to be tipped in by Jared Proll. Proll's forward pass to Daniel Farrish, who weaved through the Tanners zone, resulted in another for the Dogs. Carey's breakout pass to Brandon Ropp was fed to Egli who flipped one over the goalie's diving shoulder for a 3-1 Huskie final.

David (Huskies) and Goliath (Oakville Rangers) met again Oct 21st with Goliath being crumbled by Dale Jurica first. This set the tone for the first period which resulted in a draw. Second period picked up the pace with a red hot Tyler Jackman in net and Ryan Pierson and Adam Barr containing the Huskies zone. Alex Kyle, Ethan Field and Sam Herrle's many shots were stoned by the Rangers netminder. The last time these two squads faced off Joshua Cipolla (Goliath) ripped one first and he did the same at the net in the bottom of the second to put the Rangers first on the board. Proll's pass to Latyn in the start of the third tied it up. With heavy legs the Huskies gave up another to the Rangers. In a final drive that saw the Huskies pull Jackman for an extra attacker, the Rangers hit an empty netter with 20 seconds remaining for a 3-1 Rangers final. Current league play has the Huskies tied for second one point outside of first. GO HUSKIES!!!
