New Hamburg Huskies and the Dundas Blues. This has been an interesting match up to date this season. It was Saturday night and Elton John sang it first that Saturday's are all right for fighting. In previous games it almost came to that but Saturday November 24th was going to be different. Both teams played a good clean hockey game. Each team did have a couple of cheap calls but worked through it. First period play saw missed opportunities to both teams as hot goalies and defense worked well. Dale Jurica wasn't laying pipe all night long, just bodies. Anybody trying to enter Huskey territory was rocked. The scoreboard remained silent until Josh Potts fed Jared Proll's rush and shot for the Dogs first. Minutes later Joey Entz's breakout pass to Ethan Fields was fed to Sam Herrle who weaved, waved and nailed for the second goal. Scott Carey's point shot would be picked up by Potts feeding Herrle in the slot who nailed the third. Adam Barr's exit from Huskie territory sent Daniel Farrish at the Blues net with Nick Egli slamming the rebound home making the final score 4-0. Tyler Jackman earned himself yet another shutout.

On November 25th  the Huskies visited the Hespeler Shamrocks for what would be a questionable game of officiating. Officials in hockey today certainly have a hard job that is not envious to many. If someone loves their job it is certainly this group of people. The first period saw Potts getting a goal and assists to Tyson Wagler and Fields. The first period also saw poor game management that started the unwinding of the twine. Both teams would be riddled with penalties often called as a result of missing the real call moments before. The fact that the Dogs were on their game reacting with countering goals to any that Hespeler earned, placed the Huskies ahead 3-2 at the end of the second. The Huskies defence was hot tonight producing goals as Joey Entz weaved through Shamrock traffic to beat the goalie low glove side. Dale Jurica sent a point shot low for another and Ryan Pierson dazzled the crowd end to end with a hot shot for another. Emmet Latyn had a strong night with two goals while Herrle worked the slot for one. Egli, Wagler and Fields filled the points with assists. Max Evans kept his stick low, pads high and glove ready to earn the victory 7-2. GO HUSKIES!!!
