Play-Off Weekend
By Lori Spoltore, The Pee Wee LL#3 team, sponsored by Josslin Insurance, had a big weekend with two wins in their play-off run.

The New Hamburg boys defeated St. George #1 with a score of 4-1, and then their hometown rivals, New Hamburg LL#2, 6-1.  St. George had serious penalty trouble in the game on Saturday with over 12 minutes of penalties and a game misconduct.  This opened the door for the Huskies and Mason Wagner lit the lamp in the first period with a blazing shot at the net.  Jack Weiler had a terrifc three-point game with two goals and an assist, and Joseph Heise was cash as he also scored and assisted Weiler.  Devin Mechalko had an assist as well and was constantly in the play.  Terrific hustle in the game from Brandon Jantzi, Marcus Schied and Evan Pfaff.  In the game versus the other Huskies, Weiler was huge again with his first hat-trick of the year, crashing the net as much as possible, scoring early in the first period.  The score after the first was 1-1 as Gryphon Myers tied up the game after an assist from Logan McLean for LL#2.  Alex Gruhl is a tough defensiveman for LL#3 and was key, as he went for a skate early in the second period to take the lead.  A decent game from Charlie Slessor with a goal and two assists; the offense also coming from Mechalko with a goal, Ryan Hillar with an assist, and Wagner with an assist.  Fiesty play from Logan Arnott and Brady Richardson who continually hustle and add so much to the play.  Matt Krmpotic was focused and determined in net with some brilliant saves for LL#3.  Good luck to all Huskies teams as play-offs continue.
