Huskies LL#3 Still in Contention
By Lori Spoltore. The Josslin Insurance New Hamburg PeeWee LL#3 are playing tough and hanging on as they continue their play-off run.

On the weekend the Huskies suffered a loss to St. George 4-2 and tied Paris 2-2 but are still in contention for the final match if they can secure a game this week.  Facing St. George, the Huskies came out flying and took as easy lead as Mason Wagner fired one from the point with an assist to Marcus Scheid.  In the second, Scheid made things more comfortable as he tucked one in with an assist from Jack Weiler.  The game was extremely physical and aggressive and the Huskies played without steady players Ryan Hillar and Evan Pfaff.  St. George scored one late in the second to make things interesting.  Alex Gruhl and Devin Mechalko were outstanding showing determination at all times.  Brady Richardson had his best game of the year with incredible heart and effort, and goaltender Mathew Krmpotic was terrific.  St. George beared down and incredibly, Stephen Harrison had a hat-trick in the third period securing the win for St. George.

In the game against Paris, the Huskies again had a lead.  Charlie Slessor fired one over the shoulder of the Paris goalie after a beautiful pass from line-mate Weiler.  Shortly into the second Logan Arnott had his first goal of the season with assists to Brandon Jantzi and Alex Gruhl.  Arnott has been clutch in the games as of late as he never gives up on the play.  Terrific break-ups by the defensive play of Joseph Heisse and Mason Wagner.  Paris did not back down and came back with a goal in the second, then late in the third.  The last minute and a half of the game was intense as coach Dwane Arnott called a time out and had a strategy which almost cashed.  The goalie for Paris made clutch saves and held his own in the final ticking seconds ending the game in a tie.  Special mention to Mechalko again, as he demonstrated incredible determination.  The Huskies will face Paris LL#1 this Thursday at WRC at 8:30 pm.
