Bantam LL3 Come from Behind Against Paris LL1
It was a near run thing for the Delivery Guys Husky Bantam LL3 when they hosted the Paris Wolf Pack LL1 on February 24. The Dogs were looking to continue their play-down success story but the visitors had other ideas. The match became one of the toughest contests the Huskies played all season and victory was by no means assured.

Paris came out strong and caught the Pack flat-footed, scoring within the first minute. They would do so again in the next minute on a power-play drive when the Dogs were called for boarding. Then things changed. The Huskies woke up and started to take control of the play. Chances followed with Justin Arnott and Cam Gingerich both testing the Paris goaltender. Another Husky penalty incurred late in the frame was nearly capitalized upon by Paris in the second. Goalie Liam Saunders kept the door closed and his team returned to the offensive in spades. Connor Ross was first to rush in followed by Trevor Brubacher but it would be Gingerich finding the mark getting help from Colton Hussey and Matt Elliot. Paris retaliated but Saunders came up big in the save department and his team once again took it to the opponent. A slashing call against the vistors allowed the Huskies to really put the pressure on. A mad scrum ensued in front of the Paris net with Gingerich in the thick of it. He broke it loose to Ross who rushed in and roofed it to tie the contest. It was all out war in the third with the Huskies turning up the physical aspect of the game. The fore-checking was paying dividends as the Pack machine-gunned the Paris net but could not advance the score. Then things took a turn for the worse as the Dogs were called for back-to-back penalties. Paris, with a two-man advantage, began cycling the puck in the forward zone but a small mistake was all Elliot needed to effect a turnover. His mad breakaway up ice hit pay dirt on a spectacular upstairs deke. With the lead established, the Dogs killed off the remaining penalty minutes and made the desperate Paris attackers pay a physical price for crossing into Husky territory. Hussey led the body-contact charge that made the shooters blink and it proved to be a winning strategy. Saunders easily handled the remaining ineffective shots and delivered the 3 – 2 win at the end of regulation.  Elliot and Hussey shared the player-of-the-game accolades but in reality, this was an all-team effort. With 4 play-down wins in a row, the Dogs are in a good position to advance to the finals as one of the top two seeds. Congratulations and good luck Huskies!
