HL2 Boys chalk up another win with a 6-0 Victory
It was a slow start to the game, but once the boys found their scoring touch, the goals came in bunches.

The first period was a bit of a slow start as the boys were on their heels for most of the period. Both teams had their opportunities but the puck didn’t seem to want to leave our end. Great goaltending by Jayden C-R and defensive plays from Stu, Cohen, Bryson and Cameron, kept the period knotted at 0.

The second period opened up as the boys started winning battles for the puck. It was when Cohen intercepted a pass in the offensive zone that sparked the boys. Cohen roofed a wrister from the faceoff dot off the turnover to open the scoring. 30 seconds later, Max also picked off a pass in front of the opposing net and made no mistake with a nifty backhander to go up 2-0. Back-checking also started working as Owen continued to skate hard back and disrupted a number of plays in front of our net. A neutral zone scum ended with Riley G poking the puck forward to the blue line where Sammy was waiting and off he went to bury a beauty breakaway goal, five-hole to end the period 3-0.

The third period started off with a bang as Brendan was able to break out by receiving the puck by way of a beauty relay from deep in our end from Bryson to Cameron to Brendan. Brendan ended the rush with a hard wrister that found mesh just under the crossbar. 10 seconds later Brendan went screaming in again to pot his second goal of the game. Riley C-R refused to let anything behind him as he remained solid between the pipes. The boys put the final nail in when Sammy went on another rush and fired a quick snapshot into the opposing goalie’s pads. Riley G was in perfect position following up the play and the rebound ended up on his tape and he wacked in the final goal of the game.

Great team effort as Riley and Jayden slap up another “Goose Egg”!!

Way to go boys!!
