Amazing Effort in a 3-1 Loss!
Your Novice LL3 Huskies put forth a great effort in a tough 3-1 loss to LL2.

After their strong effort in the 3 games in Listowel on Saturday, your LL3 Huskies saved some energy for their arch rivals, LL2! With news that LL4 won their first league game earlier in the day, the boys felt that today was the day that LL2 would taste their first league defeat!

A strong first period of back and forth action kept fans on the edge of their seats. Deklan J stood tall and kept the team in the game. It was a bit of a relief from the day before for him to only face 10-12 shots in a period, instead of 30-40. Strong forechecking lead to a couple chances, but no goals.

The boys came out flying in the second period but a questionable tripping call against Trent A lead to a LL2 goal. The boys kept the pressure up all around the ice and had a number of opportunities to bury the biscuit but to no avail.

A pep talk from the coaches during the 2nd intermission to the pink cheeked boys got them going and it was just a matter of time before they got on the board. Down 3-0, Aidan K made a beautiful rush down the ice and sniped a goal in off the cross bar. With the gap narrowed, the coaches pulled Deklan for the last minute and a half but the boys couldn't find the back of the net. The final score of 3-1 was not indicative of how well your LL3 Huskies played.

All our forwards were aggressive on the puck especially Zack K, Kohen P, Jackson M and Cameron L. Great positional play from Caleb H, Hayden J and Cohen W lead to numerous chances and kept LL2 at bay in our end. Exceptional shot blocking was displayed by Kaden G, Trent A, and Finn S on defence, with Eric M and Aidan K providing an offensive flair from the back end.

The coaches felt that the team played so well that all of them deserved the Hardest Working Player Award for the game.
