Huskies Spend all their Points Saturday, Run out of Gas Sunday

Well, the Atom LL1 HUSKIES came out swinging Saturday morning with an offensive barrage against Paris LL1, using all the tools in their chests preserving a perfectly executed shutout for Brody.  Unfortunately, they may have expended a little too much in offensive gas in that game, as they came up on the opposite side of that coin Sunday afternoon.

The boys played a nearly flawless game Saturday versus the Ayr Rockets in Ayr, mastering all aspects of the pillars we have been building on all year. There was excellent positioning, aggressive play defensively, desire to "Own the Puck" ™ and shooting with purpose.  If they hadn't played another game this season, we would have ended on a high note. It was such a balanced offensive attack, the scoresheet looked like a used bingo card form grandma's purse. Leading the way was Griffin Wiens, with a personal best two goals and an assist.  He was a easy choice for the Huskies Hammer although there were 12 runners' up.
Sunday, a different team showed up to meet the visiting Beverly Bandits team. The gang was probably too tired from signing all those autographs and worn down from all the pats on the back to mount much of a challenge against a fresh and sizeably daunting club. Not a lot of highlights as the team was pretty well flatlined like a bunch of four year olds after an ice cream and cake party that went on much too long. One standout claimed the Huskies Hammer by continuing to work hard and elevate his play week over week. Nice job and congrats to Isaiah Beldman!
Hard skating practices and lots of rest to shake off lingering flu-like symptoms for players and staff this week and we get back at it Sunday for a bout with Woolwich LL4 whom we played an exhibition game with a few weeks ago.
