A Tale of Two Teams
Our Huskies' boys played our fellow LL team (LL2) on a late Sunday game and then traveled up to Elmira to visit the Wildcats LL4 team again Monday. Belive it or not we iced the same group of boys in each game!

Sunday, as we thought, the guys were eager to play against familiar school and neighbourhood faces and we were expecting a very energetic outing. Wrong. Somehow we managed to leave all the energy in the room before the game and got caught often throughout the game standing around watching the LL2 team skate all around us and score some fairly uncontested goals in the second and third periods. We had a good discussion after the game about how things went and put it behind us as we had another game in less than 24 hours against a proven tough opponent in Woolwich LL4. One bright spot was Kalan, who was everywhere on the ice trying to make things happen offensively and stopped some threatening plays from developing in the defensive zone, taking home the Hammer for the week.
Monday night, we made our way up the expressway into buggy country for another evening game against the Wildcats LL4, whom we've seen a couple of times now and the boys felt rested and ready to go. We played a completely different game compared to Sunday, skating so well and holding our positions perfectly that the talented Woolwich squad never got the chance to open up much of a lead on us and we went into the third period feeling even stronger. We couldn't quite overtake them eventually losing in a closer-than-the-scoreboard-indicates 5-2 loss. This was one one of our better outings for sure, matching up with an experienced, talented team and we definitely happy with the effort the guys put out!
