Huskies' 3-Point Weekend
Our Huskies had a very successful weekend with a convincing win Saturday and a real test of composure Sunday in a seesaw battle to hang on for a tie to lead into Tournament season.

After a string of well played games in the past couple of weeks resulting in losses, it was time for the Huskies to cash in on their efforts with some points in the bank. Saturday was a nearly flawless game played from start to finish with the discipline and confidence that only results in success. We were like an unstoppable blue machine, dominating the entire ice surface and working our systems to deliver our goals of a balanced attack and an efficient defense. With some line tweaking and a fresh face on left wing, several formerly "quiet" players created a real buzz. Owen is settling into an offensive role easily and made an impact in both games, and while not scoring, has shown he knows how to create chances and will no doubt be finding the back of the net soon! Hayden has found a scoring touch with a three goal weekend grabbing the Hammer and scaring the poor Woolwich Wildcats LL2 goalie with a cannon-shot one timer that whistled by the keeper's ear. Isaiah also continues to have strong games being aggressive and pesky in the offensive zone scoring Saturday and having lots of touches Sunday vs the visiting Embro team. As much as we dominated Saturday, the boys had to dig deep Sunday after posting a 3-0 lead only to have the Embro team claw back and eventually keeping us from the second point by scoring late in the third period. This may have been our most exciting game played yet with lots of chances (at both ends) with solid goaltending. The fans (ie parents) definitely got their money's worth.
We now head to Exeter next weekend for the Dairy Queen Challenge Tournament,  playing Saturday against some familiar and unfamiliar faces and we are asking parents and families to come out and cheer us on and don't forget to clear a spot on the mantle for Sunday night!
