On a slushy Saturday, October 26th, the Oak Grove Cheese Atom
LL2 Huskies were on the road to face off against a talented Twin Centre team in
St. Clements.
New Hamburg got off to a shaky first period as they tried to adjust to the Stars up-tempo game play. Goalie Shawn Zwosta kept his team in the game with many highlight reel saves including a crucial stick save to keep the game close going into the second period. Down 1-0, Twin Centre continued the offensive pressure in the second, with Zwosta again turning away a multitude of opposing shots to keep the game close moving into the final period. The Huskies offence began to click as Owen Burns managed to snap the puck by the well-rested Stars goaltender, putting New Hamburg on the board. Tanner Snyder also added some firepower, wiring one past the opposing goalie. In the end, the Huskies walked away with a 6-2 loss against a capable squad. With heads held high, the team looks forward to a busy next weekend, facing off against Embro and Woolwich. Go Huskies!
