Atom LL2 Huskies Game Update
The Oak Grove Cheese Atom LL2 Huskies saw plenty of action this past weekend with some challenging games on the road and at home.

Nov 2nd saw the Huskies square off on the road against the Embro Edge in a spirited contest that was very evenly matched.     A hard fought first period had Embro up 1-0 .    New Hamburg’s Tanner Snyder responded with an unassisted goal to close out the period notched 1-1.

Snyder continued his aggressive play in the second period,  blasting one past the Edge netminder, on an assist from Ben Baptie.

In the third period,  with the score tied at 2-2, Snyder again found twine by going top-shelf on the Embro goalie, assisted again by Baptie.  Snyder’s hat-trick along with strong playing by Huskies defensemen and clutch saves from Shawn Zwosta made the difference for a 3-2 New Hamburg win.

Nov 3rd had the Huskies back on home ice to host the Woolwich Wildcats.    With the fuel tanks running low due to the road game the previous day, the Huskies had their hands full with a talented Woolwich squad.    Goalie Shawn Zwosta was kept busy all game with numerous shots and scoring opportunities from the opposition.      The Huskies geared up late in the game with an attempt to create some offence with more energized play.    Hard-nosed playing by Quinn Klasnic resulted in a home-side goal to keep the game respectable, assists from Jack Miller and Ben Baptie.   Final tally was 6-1 in favour of Woolwich.

The team hopes to rebound with a good practice before facing off against regional rival Twin Centre on Nov 9th at the Wilmot Recreation Complex.
