Plattsville Pride Tournament
Congratulations to the Atom LL3 Huskies on their Bronze Medal finish at the Plattsville Pride Tournament. The Boys came out strong in their first game against the Plattsville Rage - scoring 3 goals in the first period. Plattsvile answered back with a goal, but this would prove to be their only goal of the game as the Husky defence and Owen put up a wall.

The Boys continued to pressure on offense, putting in another six goals in the next two periods. Great hustle from all, but especially from Cam Smallwood who was named the Hustling Husky after the game.

The Team faced the Port Stanley Sailors in their next game. The Huskies opened the scoring late in the first with a goal by Simon Van Rooyen. Port Stanley answered right back seconds later and then added another to finish the period with a one goal lead. Ethan Farhood opened the scoring in the second period to tie the game. Port Stanley stayed right with the Huskies, with their star player #2 netting his second of the game. Jonas Jarosz buried a beautiful feed from behind the net to tie the game yet again. Port Stanley's #2 put in three quick goals to give them a lead in the third. Drew Weinacht answered back with two for the Huskies to tie the game with only a minute and a half to play, (unfortunately, one of those goals came on a backhand, further encouraging Drew to continue to try this shot). The boys did a great job all game but were unable to find a way to stop a strong skating #2 who sealed the game with a winning goal with 30 seconds on the clock. Owen Roth played one of his best games of the season making several difficult saves against some great shooters. Congratulations to Jack Smeltzle who did a great job both offensively and defensively, earning the title of Hustling Husky.

Due to an unforeseen outcome in the draw of the tournament the Huskies faced the Plattsville Rage in their third and final game. The boys did a great job demonstrating superior sportsmanship in their domination over a developing team. It allowed the opportunity for the boys to try out some new positions, with almost all of the defensive core getting a chance to score. Apparently $40 still isn't enough to convince Nic that he should score. Maybe his parents need to up the ante! The boys cruised to a 12-2 finish with Thomas Gmach earning the title of Hustling Husky.
