Helloi to all Husky players and Husky parents.
Thank you Angie for putting an article together for the team, i personally want to take the time to thank all of the boys for a great weekend. Our success didn't show in our results or on the score board but we as a team never give up through any of the games. Also want to thank all the parents that attended the tournament for your cheering and support. I also want to thank my coaching staff, i couldn't do it without them.
Game one against Haggersville Tim's tires. Down 1-0 in the first few mins then Hunter put one in the back of the net tying it up. Hunters first goal of the season!!
Second period haggersville gets a short handed goal just sneaking it past Kai!
Third period huskies playing hard. Several shots on net but Haggersville snuck one in ending our first game with a loss.
Game 2
Huskies fighting hard against First Nations but still down 2-0 after the first period. Kai made some amazing saves and we got mutiple shots on net.
Second period we fought hard and managed to hold the 2-0 score despite First Nations determination to score. Our defence was amazing and determined.
Third period huskies held First Nations off until 6mins left when they got a breakaway. Previous to that goal we dominated the period almost scoring many times. With 4mins left they fired one in our net top corner. Logan and Blake each got some amazing shots on net but we just couldn't get one in. With just 54seconds left First Nations managed another breakaway finishing the game at a 5-0 loss.
All the huskies played hard!!
Sundays game huskies came out strong with Aiden scoring one half way through the first period. We dominated the first period getting several shots on net and keeping it in their end. Port Dover snuck one in with only 58seconds left in the first ending period one a 1-1 tie.
Half way through the second period port Dover snuck one in. Brandon ties it back up with 3mins left in the second with an awesome shot then Blake puts us at 3-2 with 2mins left with an amazing shot off the crossbar. Assisted by Joel!!
Third period huskies struggled a bit off the face off but managed to hold port Dover off keeping our one goal lead. After a time out Port Dover put it in top shelf right off the face off. Tying it up! Another time out with only 1:34 left in the game causing great suspense in the crowd. Marcus and Aiden almost had 2 goals with 23 seconds left but just couldn't pull it off sending us into shoot out!
Kai did an amazing job in net for the shoot out saving 3 goals and Joel planted one in the net giving us the win! Way to go Huskies!!
