Huskies Unstoppable In Ayr
The Midget Husky LL2s were on the road to Ayr on January 20 to take on the Flames. The Dogs were eager to extend their winning streak to 6 in order to secure an A-pool post season run and took to the ice with authority.

Early challenges by the hosts saw net-minder Chris Thrush busy but the Dogs quickly rebounded. Canden Addley opened the scoring on an unassisted effort that set the tone for the rest of the game. The Flames were clearly on their heels through much of the first and second frames but the Dogs were having trouble finding the net. Addley was again in on the second point when his feed to Andrew Just hit pay dirt. Just scooped the pass and whirled it past the goalie with 4 seconds remaining in the period. The fight went out of the opposition and the Huskies blew the third frame wide open, grabbing 6 more points. Just teed one up at the point on a feed from Mackenzie Ryckman and advanced the Husky total to 3. Cam Gingerich followed up a minute later with the helper going to Connor Ross. Ross added his own marker on the next shift when he raced up the middle and beat the goalie on the deck. Pat Glofcheskie secured the assisting credit on the play. The onslaught continued when Tyler Griffith banged one in from the slot getting help from Just and Addley. Then it was Damian Naylor’s turn with a tip in getting help from Brandon Tracey and Ross. The overwhelmed Flames finally caught a break when the Dogs took back-to-back minors that left the visiting Huskies at a two-man disadvantage. The Flames made good on the power-play but the Pack resumed the blistering offence when even-strength play returned. Just, scooped a puck at center ice on a turn-over, raced in all alone and secured a hat trick in the process. It was an astounding 8 – 1 win that the Huskies hope to repeat when they visit St Clements on January 31 to do battle with the Twin Centre Stars.
