Minor Atoms Finalists in Garden City Earlybird
The Minor Atom Huskies travelled to the Garden City Earlybird tournament this weekend for a preseason tune-up. Hard work every shift is the focus this season, and the boys showed they have what it takes.
5 points in the round robin was earned with wins against Dundas and Garden City, a tie against West Seneca, and a narrow loss to Newmarket. After their fourth game Sunday morning the boys knew they needed help from another team and anxiously awaited the outcome, the room exploded when they found out they were in the finals. The opponent was an undefeated Milton team that the Huskies battled hard but ultimately came up just short in an exciting Final game that ended 4-1. Silver medals were worn proudly and they now start the regular season knowing what it takes to compete at this level.
