So close at Silver Stick!
The Minor Atoms battled hard in their 3 games at the Regional Silver Stick Qualifier in Owen Sound on November 7-9.  If you told someone that your team allowed 1 goal in 3 games in a tournament, they would say how did you do in the Semi-Finals?  It's tough to answer that we didn't make it through. Tie games of 0-0 against East Gwillimbury, 0-0 vs. Woolwich, and 1-1 with Owen Sound meant the Huskies had a chance to move on.

Unfortunately the help they needed from another game didn't come through, so the Silver Stick experience is over for this bunch of heartbroken, hard working boys.

The low scoring games were carried out with a great forecheck by all 9 forwards, and a hinging defense group that carried the play for most of the games but couldn't find that scoring touch to get us the 1 goal needed to break through to the semi's.  Great goaltending was huge as all but 1 lucky bounce was kept out of the Huskies cage.

The team would like to Congratulate Woolwich for winning the qualifier and wish them good luck in the International Tournament in January.
