The Boys Are Back In Town!
The LL3 Huskies returned in force in two back to back home games this past week, showing their true form. The boys hosted the Twin Centre Starts last Saturday and New Hamburg LL1 last night. Both games saw the boys playing with just two lines. This seemed to bring out the best in the boys as they skated hard and maintained their focus for both games.

The game against Twin Centre saw great end to end action from the opening face-off. Dominik started between the pipes for LL3 and made a number of key saves early in the game to keep the Stars to one goal. This woke up the Huskies offence and they put great pressure on a strong Twin Centre goalie, tying the game 1-1. The remainder of the game saw great defensive play from the Huskies with all of the forwards hustling back to help out on D. The Huskies managed to limit their time in the penalty box allowing their offence to open up. Simon showed his ability to rush and muscled his way in for a goal. Joey also made some beautiful moves to evade a Starts defence man and bury a shot top shelf. Kai did a stand out job in the second half of the game, clearly in love with his new glove. The leather was flashing all right! The Huskies held on for a 3-1 win!
The boys continued to show that they could skate hard last night in a great game against New Hamburg LL1. The score at the end of the game did not reflect the great end to end action. Both teams skated hard, with LL1 putting on some early offensive pressure. Dominik made several key saves early in the game. He strongly reminded this reported of a young Felix Potvin, with his catlike reflexes and calm poise in the net. The "Cat" made a number of amazing saves throughout the game, allowing only 1 goal through three periods.
The boys passed the puck well and kept up steady offensive pressure netting seven goals throughout the game, with several players contributing to the offence.
On a side not, Drew appeared to be nursing an injured left hand, (maybe velcro would help), as well as an eyesight problem. Maybe he needs to join Thomas at the eye doctor? Apparently they have a hard time distinguishing a small rubber object from a 140 lb player on skates?
Great job in both games boys and good luck against a tough Embro team today!
