Huskies Handle Hespeler
On Thursday night the New Hamburg Huskies‎ victoriously completed the first half of a home-and-home series against the Hespeler Shamrocks.

The Huskies outchanced and subsequently outscored the Shamrocks 3-1. Sam Thorne's second period goal stood up as the winner. Thorne also assisted on a first period power play marker courtesy Joey Gibson, and Colton Porchak added an insurance tally late in the third to seal the game's fate.

Goaltender Ethan Horrell was nearly perfect in goal for the Huskies.

"We did well getting shots on net and getting scoring‎ chances, and taking away time and space," said Horrell, who also credited the defensemen for making his job easier. He looks for his teammates to improve on passing and zone clearance for next game.

That next game comes Sunday afternoon in Hespeler.
