Strong, Proud Finish*
As we completed the season with a busy 3 game weekend, everyone was aware that due to our point standing we would not be playing beyond Sunday.
This did not diminish the output and may have actually challenged the boys to muster all their individual and collective effort to compete against the top teams in our league. We skated right along with these teams gaining their respect and even compliments from some of the opposing teams' parents as we proved to be no pushover and anyone taking points from us had to play their best. This is the most we can hope for as coaches. We have had so much fun and been rewarded by helping to either advance the boys along their hockey path or just having them enjoy their time on the ice. We hope we have fulfilled the parents' expectations and everyone ends the season looking forward to getting back on the ice in the fall.

I received an email from the Beverly coach congratulating us on being a strong opponent for them and being a hard working but clean team. He wanted to make sure that in the the game Sunday, we were not offended by the loud cheers when #4 touched the puck and especially when he scored. Scotty (#4 ) is a special needs player and gets limited playing time. He managed to get lots of touches in the game and scored his only goal of the season, sending the crowd wild. I let the coach know that we are proud to have played in a game that supports Scotty and his efforts and don't even mind him scoring just this once! We will be glad to meet them again for some more well fought battles next season!
