Midget LL2s Conclude Regular Season With A Victory
The New Hamburg Huskies Midget LL2s concluded their regular season in Tavistock on Sunday January 3 where they faced the Titans. The Dogs were in fine form and hit the ice running looking for one last victory before post-season play-downs begin.

The Huskies were moving the puck well in the first but the Titans were giving no ground. It was still a scoreless match going into the second. The opener came early in the frame when Owen Ross rifled a shot in from the blue line that bounced high. Mason Wagner swatted it in to complete the job and set the tone for the rest of the game. Matt Sommerville quickly added the second point getting help from Josh Potts leaving their opponents struggling to regain balance. It wouldn’t be easy for them as the Huskies went to the power play on a head contact call. The cycling plays proved too much for the Titans as Potts put the third Husky point on the board getting superb setup help from both Ross brothers. The Titans seemed to be fading away when they caught a break and rebounded. An interference call against the Huskies was the opportunity for them to get a point of their own. It was to be their last as the Dogs stepped it up in the third. Wagner tallied unassisted followed by a point shot rocket by Dale Jurica. Dan O’Connell scooped the assist on the fifth and final Husky goal. It was a convincing 5 – 1 finale that cemented a top 4 league finish for the Huskies. With 13 wins and 3 losses, the Dogs will compete for the A-pool championship in the coming weeks in what will surely be their biggest test yet.
