First Win!
Your Huskies started out the select season with a 3-2 victory over a tough opponent from Stratford.
With only one practice under their belt, your Huskies showed why they are a combined 28-5-1 in league play averaging an astounding 6.5 goals for and 1.06 against. The team came out flying, dominating the play from the outset. Contributions from all players was evident as our defence was strong moving the puck out of our zone and our offense produced some nice goals. Sam W. got us on the board which he is making a habit of with assists from Zack B. and Kohen P. A minute later Trent A. snipe with assists from Finn S. and Jayden C. The second was a defensive struggle as both teams traded chances but our tenders held strong making save after save. Riley C. displayed his athleticism by making many split saves and Nate H. was calm and cool flashing the glove. Jayden B. scored a beauty with assists from Lukas E. and Jayden C. Stratford made a 3rd period push by scoring at 10:17 but the Huskies held firm allowing one more with 12 seconds to go. Winning our first game 3-2 wouldn't have happened without the strong play of Zack K. who may be small in stature but make up for it with a big heart and the fact that he isn't afraid to step into kids twice his size. Personally I can't wait to watch him when hitting is legal! Also props to our defense who were outstanding. Evan H., Logan D. and Zach B. were solid as well as contributions in our own Milan Lucic, Josh B. who is a force out there.
