Woolwich Wildcat Weekend Silver Medalists
Wildcat Weekend for the Minor Peewee Huskies was quite exciting! Friday started against league rivals and Tournament host Woolwich and the boys came out on top 4-2. The next game vs. Richmond West Carlton was a back and forth battle and the Huskies took a late lead and an empty netter to win 5-3. Saturday's matchup against Southpoint showed how strong the boys were as they took off early and didn't look back winning 4-0.
Sunday's semi-final was more of the same as Port Perry played rough and tough but the Huskies outplayed them and cruised to a 3-0 win. The final against the AA Waterloo Wolves was a great game for all in attendance. New Hamburg was up 1-0, until a goal with 3 minutes remaining tied it up. Overtime couldn't solve the deadlock, so a shootout was required and Waterloo ended up on top. Silver medals for the New Hamburg Huskies is something to be proud of, congrats boys!
