First Tournament- Strathroy
The Peewee LL2 team travelled down the highway on October 25th to take part in the 1st Tournament of the Season!
Game 1 was an intense match, with our team getting the head start in the game, only to give up 5 straight goals to make the score 5-3 for the Mount Brydges Red team (the eventual Champions.) We didnt give up tho and stormed back with 2 late goals of our own to send it to overtime. It wasn't meant to be as Mt. Brydes scored late in OT to get the win.
Saturday was a different outcome. After a sluggish start, the Huskies stormed the Offensive zone late in the game and came away with a 7-2 win against South Muskoka.
On Sunday the boys were ready for the final game of the Tourney against the host Strathroy Blue team. It was another tight affair with the game again going into OT....and again luck wasn't on our side as we fell 3-2 to Strathroy.
The weekend was a big success, with the team not losing a game in regulation and a lot of issues and strategies worked in along the way.
The team looks forward to some good competition in league play the next few weeks.
