Intense First Game for the Huskies
The Huskies opened the season with an intense, action-packed game in Ingersoll, October 13, that ended in a 3-1 loss for the U15 AE team.The first two periods didn’t see any scoring, but plenty of end-to-end, hard hitting hockey. Both teams killed off penalties with several close calls foiled by solid goaltending.
The Huskies showed a lot of heart near the end of the second, dominating the play while short-handed. Hayden Cobb started the scoring with a goal at 2:35 in the third for the Huskies. The Express responded during a power play with their first goal at 5:15. Two more goals quickly followed. New Hamburg fought back hard with a number of shots but weren’t able to capitalize before the buzzer.
