Huskies Conquer Caledon
The New Hamburg Minor Peewee A Team notched its second win of the season‎ with a come-from-behind 4-2 win in Caledon on Sunday afternoon.    Give the Huskies full marks for a never-say-die attitude. Caledon was able to get on the board first just after the Huskies had killed off a penalty. The Huskies came back to even the score with a man down as Owen Lowry scored a short-handed goal to even the game at 1-1.

‎The Hawks managed to once again take the lead early in the 3rd, but Lowry scored his second of the game to tie it with 2:52 left. A few shifts later, Hunter Mitchell swatted in the game winner and Sam Thorne clinched the win with an empty net goal to give the Huskies two straight wins. John Gervais backstopped the Huskies to the win, with credit to the defense core for keeping Hawks chances to a minimum while playing a man short for most of the game. ‎On Monday, the Huskies travel to Guelph to face the Gryphons.

The Huskies also wish to thank the families in Wilmot Township that contributed to the team bottle drive. The boys canvassed neighborhoods in Baden, Mannheim, New Dundee and New Hamburg and were able to raise a substantial amount for the team's operations.
