Submitted By Stacey Dineen on Wednesday, August 25, 2021
Welcome back Huskies!  The 2021-2022 season is quickly approaching and hockey is moving forward with a regular hockey season of competitive (rep) and recreational (local league) teams.  Regular league games and tournaments are planned under the current Ontario Reopening Step 3 conditions.

Players and goalies registered for the Pre-Tryout Development Skates can attend with their birth year groups as listed below:

Representative team tryout schedule has also been posted under the Tryouts tab

Anyone who did not register for either skates or tryouts can attend by bringing $50 cash for each or $100 for both and showing their NHHA registration receipt to participate at the door.  Space is limited and will be done on a first come, first serve basis.

Out of town players (NRP's) must bring their Permission to Skate forms (PTS) to attend NHHA "A" tryouts.  Without a PTS form, an NRP player cannot participate in the team tryout.

The AE tryout schedule will be posted soon, expected to start around October 2 to 8.  Local League evaluation schedule will also be posted soon, expected on October 9 and 10 (before October 11 Thanksgiving).

COVID RESTRICTIONS
Please note the Wilmot Recreational Centre has the following restrictions currently.  These restrictions might change as the season progresses.  NHHA expects all participants on and off the ice to follow these facility rules and restrictions at all times.

  • Facility doors will be unlocked and open to the public.  Anyone inside the facility is asked to keep two meter safe social distancing.
  • Dressing room access will be made available 15 minutes prior to ice time start and 15 minutes after ice time completes.  No showers or indoor warm-ups are allowed.  Players are asked to come dressed or partially dressed, especially for the prep-skates and tryouts.  Dressing room access is limited to keep 2 m distance.  Excess players can dress outside the rooms on benches
  • Face coverings are required for anyone entering the building as per the Region's bylaw.  Players can remove their face coverings when putting on their helmet and put back on upon removing their helmet.  Coaches are to wear face coverings while on the benches during games.
  • Parents/players/coaches are to ensure they self screen using the OHF Health Screening Questionnaire before entering the arena every time so team staff will keep screening records for each player household.
  • Spectators outside of your household must self screen using the arena barcode posted on the facility door, or by using the WRC website https://forms.wilmot.ca/Finance/Covid-Screening-form-Facility-visitors
