On Saturday, April 8th the Ontario Hockey League held their annual Priority Selection Draft. New Hamburg's own Callan Christner was selected in the 9th round (164th overall) by the Mississauga Steelheads.

Callan started his minor hockey days as a Husky right here in his hometown of New Hamburg.  Following his early years of hockey, Callan went on to play AAA with the Waterloo Wolves where he has been part of a very successful group of young players for the past six seasons.  Callan was one of eight 2001-born players drafted out of the Waterloo program this spring. When's he's not on the ice, Callan is a student at Waterloo-Oxford.

We wish Callan continued success along this journey and we look forward to following his career.
