Great Battle Against Twin Centre!
The Huskies hosted the Twin Centre Stars in what turned out to be a heated battle between two determined teams. The game opened with great end to end action in the first period with great scoring opportunities for both teams.
The first period was exciting to watch as both teams did a good job of clearing the zone and applying good offensive pressure. Josh made several amazing saves to keep the game scoreless going into the second.
Both teams took a penalty early in the second but neither team was able to capitalize on the opportunity to open the scoring. Josh continued to look very impressive between the pipes making a number of key saves. The Huskies were showing some real improvement in their passing game but had it in tough against a very strong defensive team. The Huskies took two more penalties to end the second period but were strong on the penalty kill and managed to keep the games scoreless.
The Huskies came out strong to start the third period and saw some of their best scoring chances. The tough physical game seemed to be taking its toll, however, and halfway through the third the Stars jumped on a neutral zone turnover and scored on a breakaway. Both teams finished the game playing hard but at the end of the day the Huskies were unable to find any holes in what turned out to be a very strong Twin Centre Team. Congratulations, boys, on a solid effort at both ends of the ice!
