EVALUATION:
- To give every player a fair opportunity, a group of independent and impartial evaluators has been assembled. Together we will collectively evaluate players on their core competencies and skills.
- The Staff and Evaluators will select and ice the best possible team, however, ultimately we're focused on bringing together those players who demonstrate hard work, are coachable and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
- After each tryout, a list of players (by their respective tryout number) will be posted on the NHHA U12A team site indicating players that have been asked back to the next tryout.
- If a player’s tryout number is NOT listed, they have been released and are encouraged to attend the U13BB tryouts.
- The first set of releases will be made after the second tryout on September 22nd.
- Final releases will be made after the exhibition game on September 27.
- The 2022/23 roster will include 15 skaters (9 forwards, 6 defense) and 2 goalies.
TEAM EXPECTATIONS:
- Please consider playing hockey at the Rep Level does require a higher level of time and financial commitment. The schedule will consist of approximately 1-2 games per week and at least 1-2 practices a week. In addition, we expect to enter 4 tournaments, 2 of which will be out of town.
- The Team Budget is getting finalized, but we can expect it will cost approximately $600 to $1000 per player for the 2022-23 season. We will be looking at additional fundraising activities to help offset these costs and support the team.
- Additional costs for: matching hockey socks (home & away), khaki pants, white button dress shirt, and blue huskies track jacket are additional expenses for all players.
- In order for a competitive hockey team to be successful, the full support and commitment of coaches, players and parents/guardians is required. We expect those selected to agree and sign a Code of Conduct, which sets the expectations for all involved (Coach, Parent, Player) in the upcoming season.
More information regarding team staff, positions & ice time, evaluation criteria, communication and other team expectations will be provided to all players at our first tryout. Please be prepared to stay for 15-minutes following the first tryout for a quick meeting.
I would ask that you please review and consider all of the above before the tryout process. While the commitments are significant, competitive hockey can be a rewarding experience and I can't wait for the year ahead.
See everyone at the rink September 20 and good luck to all players!
-Coach Ian
