Atom AE Huskies Sweep Series
Written by Lori Spoltore

The New Hamburg Atom AE team was elated after a tough third win against the Tillsonburg Tornadoes, 2-1, sweeping the series.  Tillsonburg brought their 'A' game and the Huskies worked tremendously hard to secure the win.  The Tornadoes opened the scoring after Mackenzie Baird knocked a tough shot past Tyler Jackman with 5 seconds left in first period.  The Huskies dug deep and came back flying.  Aidan Voisin tucked one in with assists from Noah Walmsley and Scott Carey in the second.  The Tillsonburg team got into some penalty trouble though their goalie was hot and made many great saves, including a sweeping glove save that wowed the fans.  The Huskies hit crossbars, goalposts and then finally went ahead 2-1 with a gorgeous goal from steady forward Brandon Ropp after a pass from Jake Schweitzer.  Jackman was aggressive with his saves and steady in net.  The Hart, Walmsley, Voisin line was hot and hustled hard attacking the puck.  The Huskies now patiently wait to see who they will take on next between Caledonia and Simcoe.  GO Huskies!
