Atom AE Huskies Advance To Round Three
Written by Lori Spoltore,

Congratulations to the Atom AE New Hamburg Huskies as they secured their third win in the series against the Caledonia Thunder with a score of 3-1.  The Huskies came flying off the bench and were ready for a huge win at home, much to the delight of their fans.  The game was fast paced and action packed, and the Huskies took an early lead in the game with a beautiful goal by Zach Hart, assisted by Jack Weiler.  The crowd was thrilled.  The second goal of the game happened after some great team passing from Noah Walmsley and Hart to Sam Herrle who gave the Huskies the lead they were looking for.  Joey Entz and Scott Carey were solid on defence and kept the puck in the Thunder end.  Luke Timmons and Ryan Hillar stayed on their toes to break up the Thunder break out plays.  Logan Kleine and Adam Barr were tough in the Huskie corners, and kept their eyes on players in front.  At times, the Huskies were in penalty trouble as it was an aggressive game, but specialty teams worked hard to kill the clock.  In the second, the Thunder scored a goal after a battle in front of the net.  Tyler Jackman made multiple saves that were incredible but faced an open Thunder player peppering him with shots, when one squeaked by.  Jackman had an outstanding game once again, and demonstrated true confidence for his teammates.  His glove saves were hot.  Kudos to all players as they skated hard for quick shifts, especially Aidan Voisin and Charlie Slessor, always remaining optimistic on the bench.  The Huskies went ahead 3-1 in the third with a goal from Brandon Ropp, assisted by Jake Schweitzer and Ryan Hillar and the team celebrated their success.  The Huskies now advance to round three in the OMHA playdowns versus Pelham. The series start this Saturday February 11th in Pelham. Next home game is Sunday February 12th.

GO HUSKIES,
