Highest Ranking AE Gr 3/4/5 Team at International Silver Stick
The PeeWee AE Huskies struck a blow for small-town hockey teams by completing Round Robin play with an impressive 4-0 record. As International Silver Stick is comprised of AE teams from groups 1 - 5 going undefeated in pool play against US teams and teams from larger Ontario centres is quite an accomplishment. The Huskies defeated Ennismore and Whitby by 2-1 scores, Chicago 3-1 and Bay County Michigan 10-2. These 4 wins earned the team first place in their pool and berth in the Tier 1 playoff round. New Hamburg was the only group 3/4/5 Qualifier to finish in the top of their pool and advance to the Tier 1 playoffs. Unfortunately the first playoff round saw the team face a strong team from Charlotte, NC and the team fell 2-1 in a shootout. Great job boys!
