Strong Team Play is Magic for Bantam LL3
The Delivery Guys Bantam LL3 Huskies hosted the St. George Generals on December 15 in what was one of their strongest games to date. The Huskies were primed for the fight and it wasn’t long before St. George realized they had a tiger by the tail.

After their goalie deflected 3 solid scoring chances, he finally succumbed to a backhanded shot from Connor Ross who was fed a timely pass from Matt Elliot. More chances followed but it was still a one-goal game going into the second. The Generals continued to suffer solid fore-checking but the Husky tally only incremented by one due to the sharp St. George goalie. A brilliant pass from Kolton Wagler to Cam Gingerich who was riding high in the slot was the play that bought the insurance marker. The Huskies puck possession game was making life easy for net-minder Liam Sanders who was only called on to save 4 shots through two periods. The Generals were clearly running out of gas in the third as the Dogs out-worked, out-shot and out-scored their opponent with the next point notched by Wagler as he pounded in his own pad rebound. Ross and Colin Shannon get the helpers on the effort. Play hardly resumed when Gingerich pulled the trigger on a feed from play-maker Elliot who was consistently dangerous. The frustrated Generals incurred a head shot call that the Huskies immediately pounced on. Gingerich secured his hat trick on the power-play with Mike Thrush and Elliot sharing the credits. The Generals bounced back in a last gasp effort to get on the score sheet as the clock wound down. It was too little, too late for them as the Huskies celebrated their convincing 5 – 1 win over the visitors. Although the player of the game could have easily been awarded to any one of the Husky line-up, Wagler and Tyler Santos split the prize based on their outstanding play through three periods.
