Saturday, October 1st vs. Halton Hills
On Saturday October 1st, New Hamburg traveled to Acton to play Halton Hills. The Huskies held their own
in the 1st period until 20 seconds left. Thunder scored their first goal at the
end of first. In the second period, the puck dropped and Thunder took it down
the ice in 30 seconds and scored. That's
when The Huskies started to get mad, but so did Thunder and it was head-on
collisions the rest of the game. A lot of penalties were missed but the Huskies never gave up!! Kaleb
M. and Ethan F. were rushing the puck end to end for the entire
game.
At the end of second, it was 2-0 Thunder. At the start the third period, Thunder got the puck right off the face off and shot on Mason P. and he had a beautiful save to keep it at 2-0. Then it started to get really rough and dirty. Huge hits on Josh C., Quinn K., Ashton M. and Carson F., but a lot weren't called and they got away with most. Then Thunder scored 3 goals. Two penalties were called on the Huskies. Quinn K. for head contact (?) and Kaleb M. for interference (!). In the end, Thunder won 5-0.
And all in all it wasn't a hockey game it was "Rugby"!!
