Organization - 2021-22 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Submitted By Stacey Dineen on Monday, July 5, 2021
Players of all ages are invited to register for the 2021-22 season now until July 30th, 2021.

Pandemic Restrictions The Government of Ontario’s three-step Roadmap will allow indoor sports leagues to be able to resume in Stage 3 with restrictions.  There are currently no specifics provided around the restrictions.  New Hamburg Hockey Association (NHHA) is optimistic hockey will return with minimal restrictions this September.

NHHA Season Format NHHA will form recreational and competitive team structures similar to past seasons based on traditional hockey play and format.  This structure will be easily interchangeable between traditional league game play models, modified game play models against local Heath Unit centres, and player skill development practice formats.  This is necessary if Government COVID-19 restrictions are in place for this upcoming season.

NHHA Season Plan Depending on COVID-19 restrictions, the season will begin early September.  The plan is:

  • All players will have the option of attending, for an additional $50 fee, four Pre-Tryout Development Skates to get them back on the ice working on their hockey skills.

  • Optional A/AE Rep Tryouts for all teams will start in mid September for an additional second $50 fee for those interested in playing representative competitive hockey (U8 to U18).

  • Players wishing to play recreational Local League hockey will start in early October.

  • League play runs from October to March with OMHA and League playoffs into April.

  • Tournaments could possibly start as early as October.

For questions regarding the hockey season format please contact the NHHA President, Nathan Joseph at [email protected].

The Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) has undergone a system overhaul, which is why our normal June registration opening has been delayed until July.  When you register this year, it will look completely different.  Feel free to take the time to become familiar with the new registration process provided by Hockey Canada by watching any or all of the following tutorials:

Register a new participant
Register an existing participant
Register multiple participants (family)

When registering, you will have the option to pay for Regular Season Registration as well as the optional Pre-Tryout Skates and A/AE Try-Out Fees during the online registration process.  Please note, there are no try-outs for divisions U7 and U21. Make sure you add all items desired to your cart before checking out.

For coaches, trainers, and other volunteers note the ehockey.com website has been disabled for volunteer credentials by Hockey Canada.  Volunteers can now use the new online HCR registration system portal to access their credential account.

Registration Fees

NHHA players returning, who did not withdraw from last season, will receive a $190 credit when they register this season.  Players not returning will receive a $190 refund (upon receipt of a void cheque to [email protected]).

Online registration this season will be done by automatic credit card payments in one single or three payment installments of July (at time of registration), August 15th, and September 1stRegister early to avoid disappointment as space is limited. Once we are full, players will be placed on a waitlist and offered a spot if one becomes available. REGISTRATIONS after July 30th, 2021 will not be accepted. Please note that Visa Debit is not accepted by the online registration website, please use a regular Visa or MasterCard or come to the in-person registration to pay by cash or cheque.

Please be patient with the online registration site - it might take more than one attempt to complete your registration while the system is under high demand and some initial bugs might need to be worked out.  If your registration is not successful immediately, it might be necessary to come back and try again a bit later. The registration site was closed for short while to address a problem, but it is reopened now. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask you to bear with us.

For those paying by cash or cheque, please attend our Live Registration at the Wilmot Recreation Complex (1291 Nafziger Rd) on Wednesday July 28, 2021 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.  Please note that cash or cheque payments will not be accepted after the July 28th registration event and cannot be paid in installments. Online registration will remain open until July 30th. Players that do not have a birth certificate on file with the NHHA for their player must bring it to the in-person registration, even if they have registered and paid online.

Existing Participant Registration: You must ensure that your player(s) are linked to your account before registering. When you login to your account, click on "My Dashboard" and then click on "Link members". Add your participants and then go back to the Registration button.

New Participant Registration: Please e-mail the registrar so that she can send you a form to create your profile. This must be done before you can register online. Don't forget we need a copy of the player's birth certificate - please bring this to the in-person registration event.

Please contact the NHHA Registrar, Andrea Brodhagan at [email protected] if you feel you are missing your $190 credit (this credit is PER participant), or if you need additional information, or any help with registration.
