Organization - Permission to Skate for Spring AAA Tryouts
Submitted By Stacey Dineen on Tue 04 05, 22
NHHA is happy to advise that we can start full filling Permission to skate requests for Spring tryouts only.  These are pertaining to the following age groups U14A - U16A trying out for KMHA AAA.

Please review the information below in regards to eligibility to tryout with KMHA prior to requesting the necessary forms.

If your player falls within the guidelines please contact NHHA Player Movement Coordinator Christinea Donaghy via email at [email protected]

Players registering for U14 - U16 AAA with Kitchener Minor Hockey must attend Body Checking Clinics; this includes goalies as well. Please refer to the KMHA website under Boys AAA tryout tab to register for the 2022-23 Body Checking Clinics. You do not need a PTS form to register for the clinics.

PLEASE NOTE the following policy from KMHA:
Rep Tryouts and Releases KMHA: Policy # KJR - 3.1
U12 and above players may only register to try out 1 level above where they played last year.

For example, House and House Select may tryout at MD, MD may tryout at Seeded, and Seeded may tryout at AAA. You are always able to tryout for a level below where you played last season if you wish or if you are released.
RATIONALE: This decision has been made to allow coaches the maximum amount of time to see players prior to the end of day four and prior to issuing F1 Waivers.  This will provide players the optimal opportunity to showcase their abilities during tryouts and allow coaches with their team selection within the timeframe mandated by the OHF (7 days).  Coaches may select up to 10 players from levels below on an invitational basis to register for tryouts.

**NHHA AE players ages U14 - U16 who wish to tryout with another associated AAA center may do so by reaching out to KMHA registrar Janet and seeking a waiver allowing permission to do so. Keep in mind that players may be asked to attend KMHA tryouts first as it is dependent on the coaches' decision. Please also advise Christinea Donaghy of this request.**
