Residential Rule Changes for 2025-2026
On December 17, 2024, the OHF introduced significant changes with open-border policies for the 2025-26 season.  (see the Player Movement announcement here and FAQs here).
Players from U10 to U18 are now able to join the association of their choice.  Additionally, associations have the flexibility to set their own policies regarding residential restrictions for their programs.

We’ve gathered feedback from our members and carefully considered the importance of preserving the hometown hockey environment in New Hamburg, while also ensuring our rep teams remain competitive. For the 2025-2026 season, our A-level teams will be allowed to roster up to 5 non-hometown players. Our B/BB-level teams will continue to roster only hometown players.

If you have any questions about the residential boundaries or upcoming restrictions, please contact the Registration Director, Dawn Phillips-Brown, at regdirector@newhamburghockey.com.
