This page contains general information for players and parents that are curious about how to get involved in hockey with the NHHA.

When: Hockey registration happens each year in the spring.  Registration usually opens around May or June.  For players who want to try out for representative level teams, tryouts occur in the spring and fall (depending on the team). Information will be posted on the NHHA website main page when registration opens, and when tryouts are scheduled. Specific registration dates and information will be posted every spring when registration opens.

Who: Hockey registration is based on date of birth (determines which division you play in) and player address.  Players of all genders and gender identities are welcome at the NHHA!  On December 17, 2024, the OHF introduced significant changes with open-border policies for the 2025-26 season.  (see the Player Movement announcement here and FAQs here).
Players from U10 to U18 are now able to join the association of their choice.  Additionally, associations have the flexibility to set their own policies regarding residential restrictions for their programs.

Coaches and volunteers are usually parents of Huskies.  Every coach and staff member is required to pass a police records check and receive appropriate training for their role through Hockey Canada.

Home Arena: NHHA home arena is located at the Wilmot Recreation Complex, at 1291 Nafziger Rd in Baden, ON. Most practices will happen on home ice, but games will be hosted by all teams in the league.  Depending on the level and division of the player, the league area will vary.
