Meet Your 2025/26 Rep Coaches:

Jeff Botting - U10A

I’m excited to be leading the U10 team this season with the New Hamburg Hockey Association. I’ve been involved in minor hockey for several years, serving as an assistant coach for U8 MD and U9 MD as well as an on-ice helper for U7. My goal as head coach is to create a positive and encouraging environment where players can develop their skills, grow their confidence, and most importantly, have fun playing hockey. My focus is on skill development, teamwork, and building a positive, competitive team culture where players can grow both on and off the ice.

My coaching philosophy is built around effort, attitude, and a love for the game. I believe in creating a fun and supportive environment where players can develop their skills, build confidence, and push themselves to improve. New Hamburg offers a fantastic hockey experience, and I encourage players both local and from outside the area to come be part of it. I’m looking forward to an exciting season ahead!

Ryan Bailey - U11A

With over 10 years of coaching experience in hockey and lacrosse, Ryan is a dedicated and patient coach with a passion for developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the ice.

With a focus on building strong hockey skills, Ryan understands that true player development goes beyond technical ability. He is deeply committed to fostering a growth mindset, helping young players embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and continuously improve.

One of Ryan’s core values is building confidence in players and he works hard to create a supportive, encouraging environment where every player feels valued and empowered to take risks and grow. Whether it’s perfecting a skating stride or tackling tough mental barriers, he approaches each player as a whole, helping them thrive as individuals and teammates.

Doug Hohl - 12A

Our staff will strive to create a fun and competitive environment for all kids involved
Looking forward to a fun and positive season where we can help develop good hockey players on and off the ice

He was also named an assistant coach of Team Alliance in (2011/2015) and Team Ontario’s U16 Team at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. From 2015 to 2019, Nathan served as Brantford Minor Hockey Association’s “Association Head Coach” with a focus on coach development and mentorship.

Prior to coaching, Nathan played in the Ontario Hockey League from 1998 to 2001 and earned spots on Team Ontario's U17 Team and Team Canada's U18 Team in 1999. Following his OHL career, he attended the University of Waterloo and played for the Warriors.

Philosophy : My priority is the player experience and creation of a team building culture. Strategic communication and genuine care for my players helps to gain trust in the team’s development process. I take pride in strong preparation, teaching technical skill, tactical team play, and individual hockey IQ all while collaborating with parents to establish a strong support system for the players.

Don Bush - U15 A

Hockey has been a lifelong passion of mine, both as a player and coach. From a young age, the goal was to be the strongest, fastest, smartest, most skilled, and the best leader/teammate. I’ve always strived to reach new heights, and that commitment to growth remains strong. As a coach, I am constantly seeking new ways to stay current with the latest trends and innovations in this amazing, ever-evolving sport.
With HP1 certification and 25 years of experience coaching athletes from birth years 1985 to 2013 (U10-U16, AAA/AA), the focus has always been on helping players grow, compete, and develop skills and character that extend far beyond the rink. Many of those teams achieved success in league play, tournaments, and provincial championships, with numerous players advancing to junior and pro careers.
The 2025-26 U15 A New Hamburg Huskies coaching staff is made up of highly skilled and experienced individuals, all dedicated to providing the best possible experience for players and families. Our philosophy is rooted in trust, integrity, respect, accountability, and teamwork. Together, we aim to create a fun, positive, and competitive environment where players can develop their skills, challenge themselves, and truly fall in love with the game.
I’m excited to join NHHA this season and collaborate with a dedicated group of executives, volunteers, players, parents, and coaches. Looking forward to seeing everyone at U15 A evaluations and having a fantastic 2025-26 season!
