LL1 finally found their groove in the third period on Saturday and were able to skate away with a 2-0 victory over LL2. All of the LL1 boys seemed to be somewhat sleepy after a late night at the Firebirds game on Friday where they put on a great 1st intermission show for the fans.
Thankfully the team woke up and finally pounced on a rebound to open the scoring early in the third period. Then some hard work in the corner resulted in a beauty goal to seal the deal late in the period.
This weeks' hardest worker and recipient of the Hard Hat is "DJ Casey J"! Casey is the team's pre-game DJ and always has the dressing room rocking before a game. And on Saturday he was able to get things rocking on the ice as well!
Casey plays a strong positional game on right wing and is becoming quite the force as he carries the puck up the ice along the boards and deep into the offensive zone. He is always smiling on and off the ice and his positive attitude is infectious throughout the dressing room with his teammates.
Way to go, Casey! Keep on rockin'!
Next week LL1 will take their act on the road as they travel to Tavistock for an exhibition game, before heading to their first tournament of the year in Woolwhich on Jan 19-20.
