Semi Finals!
Prime time on a Thursday night, LL1 hopped on the ice for a semi-final game vs. the strong skating team of LL3.  Determined to break the streak of slow starts and bad first periods, the LL1 boys initiated a new warm up regime designed to get the blood flowing and the legs moving!

Well it worked as the boys played their best first period of the year.  It was a back and forth affair as both teams took turns pinning the other into their own end for extended periods of time.  But the goalies stood tall and the period ended 0-0.

The second period was much the same as each team traded chances, but again the goalies were the stars and the score remained dead-locked at 0 after 2!

Defenceman Carson Fairhall was also a big factor in the 0-0 tie as the "Tower of Power" was his usual dominant self on 1 on 1 battles. His strong skating allows him to angle off his opponents and keep them to the outside and away from the scoring areas on the ice.  For his efforts, Carson was awarded the Hard Hat.

In the third period, LL3 was able to break the goose egg as they snuck one past the goalie that just barely trickled over the goal line as Deklan was diving to cover the puck.  That goal really sparked the LL3 squad as they netted two more before the end of the game to secure the 3-0 victory.

Even though it was not the outcome we wanted, the LL1 boys played one of their most complete games of the season.  They skated strong and checked well all game.  LL1 will be ready to close out the League Playoffs in the Consolation Final next Saturday vs. LL2.
