Playoff Round Robin Finale
LL1 entered play today looking to secure top spot in the Playoff Round Robin, but with only 8 skaters in the line up, the task would prove to be monumental.

The LL4 squad came out all guns a blazing and took an early two goal lead in the first period.  If not for the ever steady goaltending of Deklan, the score could have been much more.  But late in the frame, Casey took a sweet feed from Kohen and busted in all alone on the goal and made no mistake on back-hand fore-hand move to bring his team back to within one.

In the second period, fatigue seemed to set in as LL4 was able net 3 more goals and take a 5-1 lead into the final period.  And an early goal in the third seemed spell the end for LL1.

But half way through the period, LL1 found their legs and some scoring mojo!.  Ethan got things rolling on a break-away goal thanks to some crisp passing from Kohen and Logan. A minute later, Ethan was at it again on a partial break from the corner, thanks to some hard work and assists from Ryan and Casey.

Then 20 seconds later, Ryan got himself onto the goal scoring sheet when he skated in all alone and made no mistake on a low, hard shot.  That goal and the effort he showed all game when chasing after the puck, earned him the Hard Hat Award.

In the final three minutes, the 3 amgios on defence, Carson, Shaun and Sam did yeomans work in keeping the puck moving  up ice to push for the final two goals needed for a tie.  But time was not on the side of LL1 as the clock ran out before they could capitalize on their final chances.

It was a great effort by the boys playing with the short bench.  LL1 will be excited to have the full roster back in time for the seim-finals on Thursday and the NH tournament next weekend.
